The competition is open to all age groups.
Poems may be in any form or style, however the subject must reflect nature or the sea, be in English, and must not exceed 30 line.
Poems must not have been published previously, and must not have been broadcast or submitted previously to this award or entered for any other current competition.
Each poem must be typed on a seperate sheet of A4 paper, on one side onl, with the poets name and address at the foot of the page.
Up to 3 poems may be submitted.
Competitors' names are not disclosed to the adjudicator(s), whose decision will be final.
The winning poems will be announced in December 2010 and the prizes awarded in Jan 2011.
First Prize: £300 plus a citation
Second prize: £200 and a citation
Third Prize: £100 and a citation
Three highly reccommended: A Waterstones book token and a citation
Entry: £3 (for up to 3 poems) cheques payable to John Garland
