Description: Bristol Sign (Haiku & Renga) Poetry Festival

The University of Bristol Centre for Deaf Studies and the Centre for Personal and Professional Development, in association with Scream Bristol, are pleased to announce the second Sign Poetry Festival.
Action Deafness Books is also delighted to promote this year's exciting Festival.
Workshops are free and will explore different areas of sign language poetry together with the Japanese arts of haiku and renga.
Participants will have opportunities to create, practise and perform their own sign poetry in a supportive, encouraging and inspiring environment.

The Programme

Saturday 10am-4pm FREE WORKSHOPS!
Workshops at the University of Bristol, with Richard Carter, Johanna Mesch, Paul Scott, Donna Williams, John Wilson and leading haiku poet Alan Summers.
Poetry workshops are open to members of the Deaf community (age 18+) and will be in British Sign Language. A simple lunch will be provided.

Sign Poetry Performances by some of England and Europe's top Deaf poets: Richard Carter, Johanna Mesch, Paul Scott and Donna Williams at the Bristol Centre for Deaf People.
The Poetry Performance evening is open to anyone interested in sign language poetry (age 14+).
This event is open to anyone interested in sign language poetry, not just workshop participants, and will be hosted by Scream Bristol.
Tickets are £3 and can be ordered from screambristol@gmail.com. Doors will open at 7pm.
